Munich shooting is similar to Sandy Hook shooting

Munich shooting absorbed my attention as the murderer was a German Iranian teenager. Shortly it is very similar to heart breaking Sandy Hook shooting in US than Breivik shooting in Norway. Both murderers were teenagers and the target also was children. Both made suicide after attack.

I can guess that Munich murderer had social impairments same as Sandy Hook shooter. This kind of social impairments is coming with extreme anger towards children of the same age as they can not compete and suffer bullying. This is very likely  that this disorder falls on Autism spectrum.

This type of disorder is dangerous as there is strong revenge thoughts and shall be recognized by educational system as an special disorder among boy teenagers to help them be cured and keep them under protection.

My heart for all the children who were killed in both massacres. and for those who were the first victims, was not able to find a way to escape their horrible mind.

Hopes about autim

I’m suffering when I see people with autism have huge pain and sorrow in their life. This post is about giving a hope and some instructions. I hope that it will be useful for some people.

First of all; I’m an unknown blogger. very few people read my posts, and I’m not in a position to claim about something that others notice about it. But I have faith in what I write here. You know what is faith? I know it now.

I think in coming years we will see huge improvements on scientific studies about autism. maybe in 10 years we will hear very good news. As a person who made a research about autism, I believe that some studies now are on the right track. It is very hopeful and I think studies will find their true ways in future. I can bet on it and you can remember what I write here.

Seeing people suffering makes me suffer specially in autism. I could understand the pressure and the pain. It is one of the worst in our world. I could not avoid myself to give below instructions. for those who are disappointed looking for a way to solve the problem. I invite them to read and try below instructions. ( it is for people with high functioning autism):

1- In case of autism it is about unpleasure. You can find the unpleasure if you concentrate. We have a broad range of unpleasure which gives different feelings. all of them are undesirable. First you should concentrate on pain.

2- It is about bearing unbearable. bearing and patience is a key. you should tolerate unbearables. things that can’t kill you makes you stronger.

3- First of all you will face with unbearable feelings. It seems that those feeling are very more stronger than you. It seems impossible. But when you are determined you will see that things get easier and easier by time. you should practice more and more.

4- You should be a warrior. Nothing is more hard and scary than what you feel in your mind. There is a white demon in your mind. but it is your mind and you have enough power. You have enough. believe it. and you should know that you should be in war in every moment.

5- There is a lesson in climbing a mountain. If you have experience you know that you should have an slow continuous progress. there is no way for regret and coming back. you should go forward. so go slowly and continuously.

6- Try to protect yourself from bad impulses. be aware of them and avoid them.

7- If you made a progress or if you faced with regression don’t be over happy or over sad. It is a part of the game. It is a long way to reach a better place.

Have patience and bear unbearables. And know that it is a long way.

Unpleasure repeats

As we discussed earlier the demand of unpleasure is stronger in our mind system than pleasure. May be because of this strong attraction it becomes with another characteristic which is repetition.

There is a proverb in Persian which says that “once bitten by an snake, always fear from black and white strings.” I think the equal of this saying in English is “Once bitten, twice shy.” I think in other languages also the similar sayings could be found. It refers us to a simple fact that when in a situation we experience very bad feelings in future it will come again to our minds. Actually it is the repetition of unpleasure.

One severe condition of this repetition could be found in trauma. Especially for those people who experienced very bad situations in wars or those who were under torture or experienced bad accidents. But it is also normally happen to most of people about their routine and normal feelings. “Nobody respects me.” “Nobody understands me.” “I always ignored by others”. These simple sentences reveal in itself both unpleasure  + repetition.

Sometimes it comes with repeating certain behaviors. You may have encountered with people which they unintentionally repeat a bad behavior often. I remember once I used to visit a company in different occasions. They had hired a new employee to bring tea for guests. He always made mistakes. Breaking glasses, pouring hot tea on others and other shameful mistakes. Other colleagues and the boss always blamed him for his mistakes and he really became shameful for his mistakes. He didn’t want to do such mistakes and tried a lot to avoid but he couldn’t. I felt that he was very in need for this job but he couldn’t control his behavior. However I realized what was the problem but the company fired him.

One well-known example for these repeating behaviors is Luis Suarez and his famous bites. Could we say that he intentionally destroys his prestige in front of millions of viewers? Couldn’t he control his behavior to avoid punishments from his club or Fifa? Every reason told us that he shouldn’t do such an act and many may think that he normally can control his behaviors but it happened 3 times in very important games. To me it is absolutely the repetition of unpleasure.

Luis Suarez bitten opponents 3 times. Why he couldn’t control his behavior?

Now that we are speaking about sports I shall mention that it also happens to teams which achieve bad scores. We can observe good teams (or individuals) that even if they play good but they lose scores. They fall into a type of repetition of bad scores and destructive mistakes even if they prepare well and play better than others. They also experience the repetition of unpleasure especially if their bad results puts more pressure on them.

Some believe that Germany couldn’t win over Italy in crucial games.

To connect it with autism it could be said that autism is the world of repetition of unpleasure. The difference is that it is about very normal and routine feelings of mind which other people may not even realize to experience such unpleasures about. Those behaviors or feelings are small, tiny , ignored parts of our everyday life which if we are not autistic we couldn’t even realize those. I think to understand autism we shall have a microscopic observance on human behavior. What we perceive or understand about human is of macroscopic ones. It is what I don’t know how to explain it. Our behaviors are consisted of a set of plenty tiny , small,( or  microscopic) parts which we are not aware of most of them normally. Those are tiny parts but also basic parts of human general behaviors. If we talk, the act of speaking itself is consisted of many other behaviors and actions. Something as an example, which I emphasize on is the simply observation of saying hello or greetings among humans. Billions of people say hello to each other each day, while the word itself is similar in those scenes of greetings, each ‘Hello’ is different from another. Because this simple word itself is consisted of many other actions and behaviors.

UNpleasure attracts

I had decided to start writing about unpleasure and its key role on autism. Actually I think analysis of unpleasure will be an starting point for understanding about autism (psychologically) and to refine it through psycho therapy. I will try to start writing about it but I am not sure how to start.

But today a person sent a joke in a group (a social network of my friends) which I found it a good reason to write about unpleasure. The translation of the joke is this (with my poor english):

“If in this group I say that I madly love one of the members none of you will notice it;

… but If I say that I hate one the members all of you assume that I’m with you.”

I think if we test it on social networks, we will find that it is generally true. Bad feelings attract more. Those feelings have a more powerful gravity, while for acquiring of good, joyful feelings we should swim against the river. You should ask it from an unhappy person who tries to be happy.

Freud believes that human mind runs by two major drives. life and dead drives. As I remember Freud believes that the dead drive is the primer drive but the organism tries to overcome it by his life drive. ( I’m not sure that I wrote the exact meaning but it was in his book ‘beyond the pleasure principle’ if one wants to check it.).

I think the main characteristics of autism is unpleasure which shows itself in many forms such as anxiety, trauma, unhappiness, etc. And the answer is exactly lies in the these bad feelings.

Social Behavior: An Evolutionary Dilemma

It is an idea that I truly believe in it. I also think social behavior is of evolution of our mind system through formation of civilization. This evolution has a great connection with autism. Finding the idea of similarity between ancestral human and aspergers here in this blog surprised me. The idea is wise and I think the blogger is genius. thanks her for letting me to share it.

Asperger: The HypoSocial Human

A conceptual mistake: That early Wild Humans displayed modern social behavior.

Oh sure! Nomadic hunter gatherers wore suits and ties and held business meetings. Nomadic hunter gatherers paid taxes. Nomadic hunter gatherers had electricity, power tools and built 3-car garages to house their “toys.” Nomadic hunter gatherers texted their friends every minute of every day. Nomadic hunter gatherers were crammed together in movie theaters, schools, sports stadiums and high-rise apartment buildings and pushed carts loaded with junk food around the grocery. Nomadic hunter gatherers had hundreds of thousands of written laws, law courts and prisons. Hunter gatherers gathered millions of men together, formed armies, navies and air forces and fought World Wars. Hunter gatherers built Mega-Churches and asked Jesus to find them mates. Need I say more?

At this point, we’ve established that modern social humans, their word-based magical thought process, and juvenile behavior and appearance, and severely unequal social hierarchy, can be traced back a mere 10,000…

Autism and asexuality

It seems that some studies show that most people with high functioning autism are asexual, but I think it shall be interpreted differently.

I searched for the meaning of “asexual” in my dictionary. It is very important how we define “asexual”.

In one dictionary it is said that asexual means: “a person who lacks interest in or desire for sex.”

In a website it is written that “Asexuality refers to a lack of an inherent desire to have sex.”. (I bring it here because it seems that it is a part of common understanding.)

If we talk about people with autism and we want to mention asexuality the second definition is definitely wrong. The first definition I think could be modified to : “a person who seems that he/she lacks interest in or desire for sex.”

The inherent sexual drive and instincts of an individual with autism for sex is the same as other people. They have inherent sexual desire like any human being. But what is difference when it seems that they are with lack of interest or they don’t have desire for sex? It is because their mind system avoids arousal situations. I can’t call it suppression, but it is very the same as it. Mind system of people with autism just avoid arousal in many ways and it is to protect them for confronting with painful condition. It is inhibitions and restrictions enforced by mind system on sexual arousal. It is like a withdrawal in wars, one side withdraws, give its lands to other part to stay safe.

PS1: Something that I called as an state of withdrawal is the same as the term “regression” in Freudian psychoanalysis.

PS2: After some comments I noticed that there is a misunderstanding about my post. I’m not talking about the phenomenon of ‘Asexuality’ and ‘Asexuals’. I’ve not noticed that it is a category of people with asexual orientation. This post is about people with autism and a characteristic found in some of them in which they are not attracted / or not engaged in sexual activities.  It is not about ‘asexual’ people.

The Id, Ego and Super ego; a way to define “sexual”

In one of previous posts I noted that autism may be sexual but not directly. The phenomenon of “Sexual” is ambiguous. Although it is defined in many of books and dictionaries, but I think there are more about sex and “sexual” to say.
Matt Ridley in his book “The Red Queen: Sex and the Evolution of Human Nature” mentions that most aspects of human nature could not be considered apart from sex. In this view evolution of mankind is mostly through sexual selection. I’m not a biologist to define “sexual” in this way but I try to define the term with the help of Freudian psychoanalysis. For this I should define Freud’s structural model of mind (the way I understand it of course).

Freud says that our mental apparatus is consisted of 3 parts:
The Id; “that contains a human’s basic, instinctual drives”
The ego; “it seeks to please the id’s drive in realistic ways”
The superego; “reflects the internalization of cultural rules”

To define these 3 parts I should define it through an example. Consider that there is a river (the Id) in wild nature. It has a great force and energy. It goes everywhere possible for him, without no rule or order and it may flood and destroy everything in front of it. It is the wild id, but mankind should control the river and domesticate it because he wants to live in safe.

To solve the problem human eventually tries to make a dam (the ego) on it. By a dam its overflow and flood in destructive ways will be controlled. But it is not the only use of the dam. The dam could make many benefits for the society. It could make electricity (by turbines), could provide water for agriculture or other uses in systematic ways, etc. and it regulates the life of people in downstream of the river. The dam is productive also.

When human improved he found that the dam itself needs to be controlled. Sometimes we shall turn off the turbines, sometimes we need to open the safety gate, etc. So we invent a control system (the super ego). It has a nonstop control over the dam to not allow any dysfunctioning. The dam should not allow the water to pass unless the control system allows. On control room every time you can see “error” and “warning” on monitor. It orders everyone:
“Error no 782; shame on you.” “Warning; you are destroying everything” “Turbine no 3; shut up”
“Safety gate; you can open it now. Enjoy it.”

Let’s come back to our story of “sexual”. The id (river) is the source of instincts and desire and we guess most of it is sexual contents. It means that it is full of energy seeking pleasure. But the ego (dam) controls it. It changes the form of wild sexual drive to useful productive forms of energy. But it is only transforming from a kind of energy to other forms of energy. The nature of it will never change and the nature of the sexual drive during this displacement (or “sublimation”) remains fixed.

I think many of things which come out from us (including our behavior) could be considered as sexual in their nature. Its energy comes from sexual drive. When I say autism could be sexual, it means that, in its nature, it is related to energy of sexual drive. It is apparently linked to our feeling of pleasure which I try to explain it in another post.
